What if the Amish were ancient technological beings that recivilized Earth every time we screwed it up, simply hiding in the background, waiting?

Thomas is thrown into a wild set of circumstances when the bombs go off, and he is trapped in an underground bunker with his daughter. He also has a secret. One that would likely have him killed if discovered. What choice does he have? Will he become part of the secret society of the Amish or does he have his own agenda?
