Retired detective Tobias “Swede” Atkins is not having a good day. Recovering from a year-long coma, he still has headaches, and a visit from an ex-wife offering to buy his cabin has him confused. Even worse, some of his friends think the injury that forced his retirement has left him crazy enough to be starting fires in an act of revenge toward the family of a judge he once accused of being crooked. Things are bad enough but when a woman tries to turn a downtown restaurant into the OK Corral, he finds himself caught up in a decades-old murder, and treacherous secrets long hidden by the hot mountain winds.
